Mind-Builders Creative Arts Center in the Bronx unveiled a new playground at its headquarters, funded by New York State Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie and former Senator Ruth Hassel-Thompson. The opening follows two significant city capital projects managed by the NYC Department of Design and Construction (DDC), which renovated the building's interior and exterior, with funding from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs (DCLA). The new playground, designed by KaN Architects, includes musical play elements, a slide, a low climbing wall, a platform stage, and a pollinator garden. These improvements, alongside past renovations, aim to enhance the creative and community-oriented environment of Mind-Builders, founded by Madaha Kinsey-Lamb in 1978 to provide arts education and development in the Northeast Bronx.
